Universe of Discourse, which is based in New York, has spent the last several years playing shows in and around the northeast.
Considering that both members bring a wide
breath of diversity and experience to the band, it's no wonder that Universe of Discourse has evolved into a focused and formidable unit.

Free Jazz legend Daniel Carter's extensive woodwind and brass palette (clarinet, flute, trumpet, tenor, alto, and soprano sax); the textural and timbrel virtuosity of pianist Will Arvo; form an articulate and highly creative interplay. These ingredients create an exciting and unique variety of musical colors.
The overall scope of Universe of Discourse is a creative and adventurous use of space and musical lines with an unusual harmonic development.

Will Arvo has played numerous solo piano performances and also with The Will Arvo Trio, Will Arvo's XBOP,Daniel Carter, Max Johnson, Federico Ughi, Lou Grassi, Joe Hertenstein, Leonid Galaganov, Dominic Fragman, Bucky Pizzarelli, John Pizzarelli, Moe Stamos, Ron Anderson, Soundworks Chamber Jazz Ensemble, Mosaic Art Ensemble, Haiku ensemble, and many many more.
He has appeared several times at the Ann Arbor Music and Arts Festival, Philadelphia Underground Music Festival, Detroit Institute of Arts, The Stone, IBeam, ShapeShifter Lab, and numerous other venues.
